In her dream, she was being lifted by the air, ropes of sunlight gathering around her wrists and waist. The grass blades pushed against the soles of her feet, her skin soaking up their chlorophyll. Her heart was swelling like a tempest, threatening to toss her body overboard in delight. In her dream, her eyelids fluttered like a child's laugh, birthed from her deep soul and released upon the world. Her body lifted, and she was airborne.
And just as quickly she tumbled back to the earth; the sunlight ruptured into stardust and the blades of grass doubled under her knees and palms, scratching where they once were soothing. Her jaw clenched with the weight of her entire body. But her heart still rocked uneasily and her eyes still danced.
She would fly yet.
